I have mentioned in the past that I can only handle greens in smoothies if they are slightly chunky. Somehow whenever I would put them in my blender and process them as much as I could the drink would be horrible. It would be stringy and less smooth than if I let the greens be chunky.
Turns out that I was full of shit. The reason I never could drink a smoothie like that was very simple. I was using a to go blender and it served its purpose. However it wouldn’t break down the greens enough to make a smoothie with spinach or kale enjoyable.
Now since I recently got a Vitamix this has all changed, this is the first smoothie I made with the Vitamix and it made this smoothie perfectly smooth and delicious. With the new blender the spinach gets entirely broken down and there is no proof whatsoever that there is any spinach in this smoothie.
In the end I am still just a very big child and I added some raw cacao and dates to this smoothie to make it taste like just chocolate. Except all the ingredients are natural which makes it infinitely more healthy than any other chocolate drink. And the best part? If you don’t tell someone there is spinach in this smoothie, they will never know.
