So this week I bought a Vitamix. I have been contemplating whether I should buy one for months by now. I kept going back and forth on whether I should buy a Vitamix and there may have been one too many trips to Williams and Sonoma.
Turns out that all I needed was use a Vitamix once to be convinced of its magical abilities. I was at Costco last week and they had an amazing bargain on a Vitamix. So I did the only sensible thing I could have done and I bought it. I can assure you that on the way home I had a tiny little panic attack as to why I would spend a small fortune on a blender. After all, it’s just blender.
It turns out I was wrong, so far I have been able to throw literally everything in the blender and it hasn’t even complained the tinniest bit. A full frozen banana? No problem. There is a recipe for blueberry nice cream coming up soon.
And one of the best things about the Vitamix? You can easily make hot dishes and drinks in it, because of how powerful the Vitamix is you can easily heat up a mixture. If you throw all the ingredients for this hot chocolate in a high powered blender and turn it on high for a few minutes it will be hot and steamy with no effort required whatsoever.
- 1 cup soy milk or other non-dairy milk
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar or other sweetener
- ¼ cup dairy-free dark chocolate chips
- On a stove melt all the ingredients together using a bowl over a pot of boiling water. Stir continuously while heating the hot chocolate.
