Brownie Batter Smoothie

Serves: 2
  • 1 ½ cup almond milk or soy milk
  • ½ cup raw sugar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  1. In a small saucepan, add ½ cup of milk, sugar, golden syrup and half the salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer while stirring. Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  2. Remove the mixture from the heat and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to cool. The mixture will thicken in the fridge but can be used for this smoothie after 30 minutes.
  3. Place the soy milk, ice cubes, vanilla essence, cacao powder and ¼ cup of the caramel sauce in a blender.
  4. Process on high until perfectly smooth, taste the smoothie and add additional caramel sauce if desired. Enjoy poured over ice.
