So I have finally been experimenting with greener smoothies. I can’t say they are the healthiest thing in the world yet but they have definitely improved from the sugar infested drinks I used to drink.
Now if we are talking about greener smoothies I feel like there has been some personal growth on the subject. Slowly I have been adding more and more greens to my smoothies. I have started using mainly spinach in my smoothies. I attempted kale and even though it wasn’t as bad as my attempt at celery in a smoothie I couldn’t stomach it yet.
This week I was watching fat, sick and nearly dead on Netflix. In this documentary a man goes on a mission to drink juices for 2 months. Nothing but juices in an attempt to lose weight and live healthier. And the one thing that stuck with me is the importance of slowly moving over to green smoothies with less fruit and more vegetables. So that is what I have been attempting to do over the past while.
Now this green strawberry smoothie is really just a strawberry smoothie with hidden greens. If you drink this smoothie all you taste is strawberry. Thanks to the sweetness of the grapes there is not proof of anything green or healthy in this smoothie whatsoever. This smoothie does such a good job of hiding its true nature that it is the perfect smoothie to trick children with. To them it will just taste like strawberry but really there is a lot of greens hidden in it. If you want to you can even add an extra cup of spinach. It will just make the smoothie look slightly more brown and unappealing.
