A simple but delicious combination of kiwi and berries creates a healthy but sweet kiwi berry crush. You can enjoy this smoothie without any guilt as it’s free from sugar and milks.
It’s currently kiwi season in Australia. Which can only mean one thing. Kiwi smoothies! Over the next few weeks you will see a few recipes with kiwi as ingredients. This delicious kiwi berry crush is ready in 5 minutes for a quick morning breakfast.
Technically this is not a smoothie but a crush. For most of my recipes I use soy milk or occasionally almond milk as a base. I had a few people email me and ask for milk free smoothies.
So naturally I turned on my Vitamix and started tossing random fruits in the directions of the Vitamix. Now a usual crush is made with fruit, a sweetener and ice cubes. I personally wasn’t very keen on these as they are quite watered down. So I instead made the smoothie with fresh fruit, frozen fruit and water. I simply added more frozen fruit to create a delicious and icy drink.
This kiwi berry crush is absolutely deliciously sweet. There is no sugar in sight as all the sweetness comes from the fruit. The combination of kiwi and berries made for sweet drink while still being healthy. Since there is whole fruit in this berry crush there is no negative side effects like fruit juice. All the fibre is in your crush and consumed with the sweet juice.
