I love sweet things. Ever since going vegan I have been much more aware of what I put in my body though. I have been attempting to limit my sugar consumption and to reduce the amount of foods I don’t need. This “new way of life” has made it essential to find new things to eat.
After attempting to make some frozen banana ice creams I opted to try things slightly differently. Instead I decided to make a quick lemon sorbet which is really just made of lemonade. This was a delicious sorbet but not really worth sharing. This did make me experiment with different types of fruits. It turns out that the solution was staring me right in the face. To get sweet sorbet I just needed to use sweet fruit.
Making this raspberry sorbet was like magic. It is easy, it is quick, it requires no effort at all and it is healthy. I personally added some maple syrup to add some extra sweetness, it is far from necessary though. Without the maple syrup this sorbet is delicious on its own if you are in need of a sweet fix just add some extra maple syrup.
When you make this sorbet and eat it straight away it will have the consistency of soft serve. If you want to be able to scoop this raspberry sorbet simply put it in the freezer for 2 hours. To make this raspberry sorbet even better add some chocolate sauce to it. Because, raspberry and chocolate. I think that’s all I need to say.
- 2 cups frozen raspberries
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 lime, juiced
- ¼ - ½ cup water
- Put all ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Add water as needed to create a smooth consistency.
