The unthinkable has happened! I am voluntarily drinking a glass of brown sludge.
If you have been following this blog for a while you know that I share a smoothie recipe every Wednesday. So far every recipe I have shared is based around fruit and sweet. From the drinks on this blog it is pretty clear that I am a grown up child who can’t part ways with sugar yet.
I have in the past taken a first step in the right direction by adding a tiny bit of spinach to a smoothie. Today I am going entirely for it. I made a smoothie which has spinach as a main ingredient. Thanks to the spinach this smoothie turns a delicious off brown because really who doesn’t want to drink something brown.
Since I am a grown up child I did still need some sweetening for this smoothie. I used some very ripe sweet bananas and frozen strawberries to make this smoothie taste a tad sweeter. It is still quite tart but regardless of the horribly unappealing colour this spinach smoothie is enjoyable. I can actually see myself drinking this smoothie on a regular basis.
So for the next while I will be focusing more on green smoothies that don’t taste like dirt. Who knows I might even put kale in a smoothie at some point.
