I know it is currently winter in the northern hemisphere and since most of my readers are located in the northern hemisphere I attempt to post recipes related to the season there. However I am in Australia and it’s summer and it’s hot. This week it was over 90 degrees almost every day so I was definitely in the need for something tropical and summery. So I decided to make a tropical smoothie that uses the fresh seasonal summer produce we currently have.
When I was walking through the store this morning I knew I wanted to make a tropical smoothie but I hadn’t decided on any ingredients yet. And it turns out that passion-fruits are back in season. So this was the perfect opportunity to make a delicious tropical smoothie with passion-fruit.
I have 3 fruits I absolutely love and can eat every single day. Number one on that list is mango, secondly would be passion-fruit and the last one is raspberries. I did try this recipe with some added raspberries but unfortunately that just didn’t work. Using 2 out of 3 fruits on the list is not a bad achievement though. Now add some banana to those two fruits and you end up with one hell of a smoothie. I really do hope you enjoy this smoothie as much as I do when passion-fruits are back in season.
